The 2017 LA Auto Show will see the official unveil of the 2019 Mercedes CLS – a car that has already been teased by Mercedes.
The official unveil of the 2018 Mercedes CLS will happen on November 29 and while that’s something we are eagerly waiting for, we have already come across a video footage of the car being tested on the Nürburgring tracks in Germany.
In the video, the new CLS has been extensively camouflaged, but you can see and hear it in motion. From the spy shots we already had a confirmation that there has been a substantial external changes to the CLS and now the video does give us additional proof that the exterior of the new CLS is significantly different compared to the previous version. The interior of the car is also seeing lots of changes.
One of the key changes inside is a large dual display dash like that seen on the E-class. The back seat of the CLS is also getting three spots for the first time. Granted an adult won’t fit in that middle position, but you can cram a kid back there.
An AMG version of the car will be available, but it’s not expected to launch on day one. That car will be the AMG CLS 53, the first an in the AMG 53 series. Engine options are expected to include inline-six gas units and diesel engines. Four-cylinder options are expected.
While the official unveil for the 2019 CLS is coming soon, the on-sale date will be near the beginning of 2018 with a European debut in March in Geneva. Sadly, the wagon is no more thanks to lack of demand.

The car will be officially unveiled on November 29 and is set to come with some major cosmetic and mechanical updates. It was just last week that the carmaker released the first teaser image of the car, which was essentially just silhouette if the front end. The new video on the other goes a bit in detail and gives us a closer look at the car’s exterior features along with the car’s redesigned curves and swooping lines.
Based on the new teaser video, we can tell that the 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLS comes with a new diamond grille with a fat silver slat at the centre and larger three-pointed star logo. On either side the car comes with a stylish set of LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights (DRL). The video also reveals the new ORVM with integrated turn signal lights, a blackened B-pillar, chrome door handles, stylish twin five-spoke alloy wheels and LED taillamps.
