Volvo has debuted the first-of-its-kind ‘Care By Volvo’ subscription service in 10 countries in a bid to make its cars accessible to more and more people.
Under this ‘Care by Volvo’ service, which Volvo claims is transparent and hassle free, a customer has to simply opt for a subscription and he/she can use the car they have opted for 24 months by paying a monthly subscription fee. The monthly fees will be decided before hand and at the end of the subscription period, customers can either change their cars or even buy the car. Currently Volvo is only offering the newly unveiled XC40 under this service, but has said it will expand the portfolio soon.
Customers will not have to make any down payments, or pay for insurance, service fees, taxes and so on. The company will also be providing a range of digital concierge services such as fuelling, cleaning, service pick-up, e-commerce and so on.
The service will be offered only in 10 countries which are Sweden, UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Norway, Poland, USA, China and Japan. Volvo will offer the service in other markets at a later stage.
In light of the same, Volvo also announced the acquisition of the Luxe, a US-based premium valet and concierge service company. Volvo acquired the company along with its technology platform and some of the key staff members as well.
